Since starting the business in Aug., my partner and best friend Amy, must've told me over 1,000 times I better start "blogging". Didn't even know what it was but I wasn't going to let her do it if it had anything to do with writing as I am compelled to edit her. There are reasons that Amy needs editing, though as just last week she told me I had a "dingleberry" on my chin in front of six women I was speaking to. Embarrassed and pissed, when I got to the car I had to ask her if she knew what a dingleberry was and how in the world did I have one on my chin. We surmised it was just a "fuzzle" but one can see why she needs editing once in a while.
And so it goes with us almost daily...I, in fact, just rudely hung up on her in response to a situation but we usually get over it quickly. If we didn't, our company wouldn't happen and we love it too much to let "stuff" get in the way. Bertha is our mermaid, mascot and someday it will be known how she received her name....but not yet.
Remember to check in with us once in while as we continue "blogging" what it's like for the owners of Modern Mermaids on a daily basis.

I doubt there will ever be anything banal about Bertha's blogs, especially if/when dingleberries are the topic.
